Introducing THE FORE!!

September 23rd 2008 20:43
RELICNOTE: Many readers have written in, wantin' to know more about the amazing foursome you're about to meet. While The Fore are playin' to sellout venues and followed by thousands of faithful fans throughout the UK, they're also lookin' for a new rhythm guitarist! Londoners, here's YOUR chance to be a star! I'll give ya the audition info at the bottom of the post, k? So keep readin'!:

About ten miles from London, in a town called Bromley in Kent, four young men came together a few years ago and created a sound not heard since the early Beatles. But they brought something to the musical table that set them apart from any other Beatlesque group: they actually had the same energy, drive, personality and power of the Fab Four within them!

These lads -- Matt Hardy on lead guitar, Spencer Hannabuss (pictured on your right, and who also writes their material) on bass, Luke Bentley on rhythm guitar and Simon Thompson on drums -- melded their personalities, and began, just as their famous predecessors, to perform wherever they could find a crowd: streetside, private functions, fairs and small clubs.

They finally caught the attention of the manager of the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool, and now are booked there often. Let me quote from Neil White, their manager:

"they love them in Liverpool, no surprise maybe except the people of Liverpool are not easily fooled -- in fact the manager of the Cavern wanted them to be the resident band."

Sort of reminds you of another band, doesn't it? In fact, these lads have all the elements of the Beatles, including their apprenticeships (playin' the sweaty gigs in small clubs and for low-to-nothing pay), their devoted, grassroots fanbase and the true, ingrained energy that elevated the legends to the top of the charts!

In each member, you'll see a distinct and lively personality. The intensity of Simon (pictured on the left) captivates many fans, while Luke could pass as the kid next door(btw, that was what Michelle M. from Toms River, NJ, observed); lead Matt looks studious and a bit quiet, while bassist Spencer not only exudes life -- maybe a hint of impishness (again, Michelle's observation!) but looks a bit like George Harrison.

But their sound is what's really turning on the fans! Though they're lookin' for a record contract at present (and, man, it won't be long before their names are on a lucrative dotted line!), they already have a highly successful indie CD out called Black and White and will soon release their second, called Run and Hide; they've done the background music (and one scene recreation) on the hit DVD, Rare and Unseen: The Beatles; won the famed BBC Upstaged! television rock competition; have had their CD tracks played on UK, European and American radio; have played before as many as 30,000 fab fans at one venue!

Now, I'll have more on this in the next post, but remember:

Their superstar rhythm guitarist, Luke Bentley, is leaving due to health reasons. With that in mind:
THE FORE IS NOW LOOKING FOR A SOLID, DEDICATED REPLACEMENT! IF YOU CAN PLAY WITH A MERSEY/HAMBURG STYLE, LOVE THE BEATLES AND OTHER SIXTIES UK BANDS, HAVE YER OWN GUITAR/AMP AND CAN WORK AS PART OF A TEAM, THE FORE WANTS TO TALK TO YOU!!
Just click on their site for audition information, or just write the Relic and I'll forward the info to their managers. Please ... SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY, okay??

With that in mind (and a mound of work to get through before suppertime), I'll make 'er short here and see ya a little later this evening. So stay tuned ... and ...

Keep yer eyes on the skies, your feet on the ground, your heart with the music ...
and I'll see ya on the flip side.
